Grand Gathering... focus on the gathered skirt.

My obsession with gathered skirts has reached an eminent climax, to the point that I decided to make one myself...or better yet haunt one in every shop I can possibly find. This one I made and I’m very happy with. The introduction of skirts skimming the waistline started during the 19th century below the bust (the Empire silhouette) and gradually sank to the lower waist. Skirts started fairly narrow and increased dramatically to the Hoop skirt and Crinoline -supported styles of the 1860`s; then fullness was added in the waist.
In the beginning of 1915 the hemline went up up and away for women’s day wear for good, which was very good by the way. For the next fifty years fashionable skirts became short (1920`s), then long (1930`s), then shorter (the War Yearswith their restrictions on fabric), then long (the "New Look ")then shortest of all from 1967 to 1970, when skirts became as short as possible while avoiding exposure of underwear, which was considered taboo.

I had so much fun making this shoot; I’d like to know how you feel about my new skirt, pretty, not? Or you’re obsessions about short skirts and their different sorts

What colors are shaping your spring 2015....yes already!

Spring summer 2015 color report Courtesy of Pantone
There’s something wonderful about the approaching spring summer , the dance between the two seasons and how everybody just hated winter (some of us actually preferred the cold moody weather) but hey by societies demands and who wants to wear trench coats and boots all year long anyway. The hot blazing sun, that cool breeze that brings us close or a near fraction of heaven, the beach, ice cream; I had to add that and of course summer festive season holidays. No no it`s a different thing here in the fashion world, fashion week, street wear bloggers, super models, globe hoping fashions shows the world is buzzing with anticipation and a fashion frenzy.Funny enough Pantone released the color of spring 2015 based on the current spring summer Ready to Wear fashion weeks (New York already done) and here`s the funny part if you wondering where is it, the theme and color “En Plein Air” a laid back, ethereal nature drawn inspiration. I can understand, lately technology and our obsession to keep in trend with everything has dominated and in some way we needed to be geared into the direction of pure stillness and being, we need to be clear and 2015 is the year to be one with yourself and your wardrobe of course.what color is shaping your spring outfits, do you like the range of predicted colors, liked the article? i would love to here from you

Street Walker: defying the laws of blogging

Fashion student by day, street walker by night

I promise better image quality and the reason to visit my blog J
With the out most vengeance, I click on my word document and type like a beast. Not that I’m happy or something but really because of the opposite I’m outraged. This blogging thing is giving me nightmares, even during the day... I wonder what’s that called a bad day dream? Blogging is supposed to be fun, isn't it? Then again I guess not, bloggers have been hailed the gateway to the fashion industry and since the start of the millennium an influx of bloggers have been seen and really making a success of it. The importance of it even been recognized by designers, haunting them so they can have a mutual relationship, promote me and well promote yourself too, and the consumer takes note who is wearing what and whether I should go to the shop and buy it.

And for me like everything else in this world, now bloggers are enjoying the lime light and forgetting why they are blogging in the first place, okay who am I to say, I’m a beginner and the world is looking at me with smeary eyes but that’s the truth. I wanted Long Lost princess to be different, something real, something street, something unique that everybody can relate to, laugh if they can, say oh my gosh look at that! Or oh wow I love that (I’d love that one). Long Lost Princess is a fashion blog with a difference, still starting out and realizing I've got a lot to learn but fun and worth it anyway.
walk it out with me

hello world
